Teaching & Clinician Background
Teaching since 1997. Natalie is dedicated to teaching students to be expressive, confident, leaders in their music making. Her style of teaching is a mix of traditional and Suzuki methods. Lessons are highly structured working on technique and musicianship through scales, etudes, solos and orchestra rep.
Natalie has been on faculty of the Hastings Arts Center, Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Mt. Olivet School of Music, St. Joseph's School of Music, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and Acadiana Conservatory. She was involved with piloting music programs at three schools and has been a guest speaker for the International Society of Bassists and the AVID career program in schools. Sectional coaching, scholarship lessons, audition adjudicating has included working in both Minnesota & Louisiana for GTCYS, MYS, MMEA All-State Orchestra, MTNA, Minneapolis Public Schools, Anoka-Hennepin Schools, Suzuki Association of Minnesota, Augsburg High School Honors Orchestra, Louisiana All-State Orchestra, Louisiana Youth Orchestras, Concerto Competitions at Loyola University and St. Olaf and multiple district solo & ensemble contests. Natalie is a registered music judge through the Minnesota State High School League as well as the National Federation of High Schools.
